Frequently Asked Questions

  • Serve Day will last September 27-28, 2025. Instead of gathering in the Worship Center for a regular Sunday service, our whole congregation will be going into our local communities to show the love of Jesus through tangible acts of service! There will be a number of service projects for our volunteers to choose from, which will meet the needs of local schools, non-profits, and other parts of our East Bay communities.

  • Serve Day will be on Saturday, September 27 through Sunday, September 28, 2025. Most service projects will last approximately 1.5-2 hours and will take place between 9:00am-12:00pm.

  • There will not be any regular Sunday programming on Day 2 of Serve Day (September 28). This includes the main worship service, Generations, High School, childcare, and all other gatherings. Instead, we will be worshiping the Lord with our service to our community! At 8:30 on Serve Day morning, we will be meeting outside in the parking lot for a brief rally, with a couple of worship songs and a few words from Pastor Danny. We also have tentative plans to serve lunch on campus for those who want to come back after their project is completed! Stay tuned for more information!

  • There will be many different Serve Day projects, and they will be taking place throughout our local, East Bay communities (Castro Valley, San Leandro, Hayward, Pleasanton, Oakland, etc.). We will be serving a number of organizations and individuals throughout our community, including local senior citizens, schools, nursing homes, and non-profit organizations. Some service project activities include beautification and clean-up, visiting nursing homes, preparing care packages and serving meals to those in need.

Everyone will be able to sign up in advance for any one of the available projects.

  • Yes! An optional lunch will be available on Sunday back at 3Crosses from 12-2pm, after the serving projects have ended.

  • Yes, there will be a limited number of projects taking place at church on Sunday morning. If you are able, we encourage you to participate in one of the off-campus projects. That will allow families with young children and those with mobility challenges to still serve through one of our on-campus projects.

  • If you have an idea and would be willing to help coordinate the project, please contact Julia Meras, our Serve Day Manager at julia@3crosses.church. Please include details such as the organization’s name, the time commitment, and the general service idea.

  • Stay tuned! Every project has a lead person who will be available to answer questions and give instructions as the day approaches. You will hear from them about a week from Serve Day. They’ll remind you what to bring (if anything), where to meet, and more! If you’d like to get a hold of your project lead before then, please contact Julia Meras at julia@3crosses.church.

  • Yes! We will have a broad range of service opportunities that will provide chances to serve together as a group.

  • Childcare will not be provided on Serve Day. However, we will have a limited number of projects on the 3Crosses campus that will be suitable for young children. Those with children are encouraged to review the projects listed at our sign-up link. There may be some activities off-campus that are appropriate for your young children to come to, such as doing activities with seniors at care facilities. However, the on-campus projects are also available. If you’re interested in an on-campus project, please sign up early as spots are limited.
